Commencement COVID-19 Information

To help reduce the risks of spreading COVID-19 during fall commencement ceremonies, we strongly encourage all attendees to be vaccinated, wear masks and follow the guidance listed on the Comets United website. If you or your guests are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, are currently COVID-19 positive, or have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, please refrain from attending.

Here is additional health and safety information to keep in mind as you prepare for commencement:

  • Ceremonies may contain up to 3,000 attendees.
  • Students will be staged and seated in proximity before and during the ceremony.
  • Guest seating will be bleacher-style inside the Activity Center’s main gym and theater-style in the ATEC Lecture Hall. Seating will not be socially distanced.
  • Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for attendees.
  • Limited socially distanced seating will be available at additional locations upon request.
  • Livestreams of the ceremonies will also be on the UT Dallas website.
